Eligibility Requirements:
- Colorado students, ages 12-25 are eligible for participation
- Must have an active Totally Free Checking account opened at Bank of the San Juans (Minors under age 18 must open a joint account with a parent/guardian co-signer)
- Students earn $3 for every A, A+ or A- up to $20 per term
- Earn an extra $5 for a 4.0 term average!
- Report cards must be submitted to a Bank of the San Juans branch by designated deadline for payment to occur
2026-2027 Report Card Submission Deadlines:
Report cards for the current grading period must be submitted by the following deadlines to receive payment for A’s. Report cards submitted outside of the current grading period will not be eligible. Funds will be deposited into student’s checking account within one month after deadline.

- November 30, 2026
- January 31, 2027
- April 30, 2027
- June 30, 2027
Note: For school districts on trimester schedules, report cards can be submitted by the next available term deadline to qualify. Grades for higher education summer sessions must be submitted by the next available term deadline to qualify.
Good Grades Pay Financial Foundations Online Course!
Earn an additional $10 incentive for taking our Financial Foundations online financial literacy course! The course teaches the basics of a checking account, how to save/pay for college, how to build an emergency saving fund and more!
Certain restrictions apply. For school districts on trimester schedules, report cards can be submitted by the next available term deadline to qualify. Grades for higher education summer sessions must be submitted by the next available term deadline to qualify. Students must be age 12-25 and be enrolled in a Colorado Public or Private School to be eligible. Homeschool students are eligible. Cash award will be deposited into primary checking account within one month of submission deadline. Student will be rewarded $3 for every “A”, “A+”, or “-A” grade presented on their current report card. Maximum amount earned is $20. An additional $5 bonus will be added for a 4.0 or higher GPA Term Average, one bonus per term. Cash award is treated as interest and will be reported to you on IRS Form 1099-INT. Bank of the San Juans reserves the right to modify or cancel the program for any reason (without terminating any pending award payments).
Good Grades Pay Student checking account holders can earn a one-time $10 incentive upon successful completion of the Good Grades Pay Financial Literacy Course. Cash Award will be deposited into the primary checking account within one month after the Good Grades Pay report card submission deadline.
